Default Honda accord 1999 6 cilinder

Mijn buurman heeft een Honda accord 6 cilinder.
dit is een automaat.
Nu branden zijn lampjes niet in het dashboard, wat kan de oorzaak zijn ?

My neighbor has a Honda accord 6 cylinder. this is an automatic. Now his lights are not on in the dashboard, what could be the cause?

Which specific lights are not turning on? The nighttime lights behind the gauges, or the warning lights like check engine, turn signal, etc?

night light in cluster, indicating which mode it is in, P, D, N, etc.

I'd probably start on the dash light brightness controller. Should be on the dash to the left of the steering wheel. Make sure it is turned on highest setting. If the lights still do not work, pop out the switch and unplug it. Use a volt mete or a test light to measure for voltate on the red/blk wire. The negative volt meter lead should be on a good ground like a bare metal bolt connected to the body or run a wire from the - battery post into the car to have a good ground.

The strange thing is, when you move the lever back and forth quickly, you sometimes see the position light up, if you put it on the position, it doesn't light up

You may be dealing with two different light issues. One is the backlights and the other is the gear position switch. I'd start with the easier one which is the backlight at the dimmer switch aka brightness controller.

The backlight works just fine, that's not the problem. The indication of the gear positions, so P,N, D, this doesn't light up anymore.

In an earlier reply, you said the night light in the cluster wasn't working. Now I'm not sure what you meant in your response.

The lighting behind the odometer and revs, etc., that works. But this is an automatic, the indication of which gear you are in (P, N, D and R) does not light up, it does not burn green.

Thanks for clearing that up and my apolgies for the confusion. Just so I have this correct, only the gear position indicator in the cluster is not working. Is the light for the gears on the shifter working?
