Honda Accord 2002 F18B2 jerking/rough idle
Hello everyone,
It seems that this is pretty common issue with F18B2, i have encountered similar issue ( probably the same) with my Accord (F18B2 year 2000). I have been trying to solve it with replacing usual things, like spark plugs, ignition cords, cleaning some sensors, nothing helped. With my car the issue is the following, a bit rough idle ( compared to my Civic ), when the engine is cold, it is hard to accelerate, my foot is to the floor (second gear) and it keeps 2000 rpm for example ( does not accelerate, nothing happens), i retract my foot, press the pedal again and it starts accelerating, this does NOT happen when the engine is warm ONLY when engine is cold. The thing is tedious and it drives me nuts. No errors on the ECU ( connected the two wires beneath the glove box ).
I tried to find a solution on another forum ( Bulgarian honda forum thread ), a fellow over there has shared that a mechanic has diagnosed the issue being related to the cam shaft (being worn out or something, there is a picture in the thread, but i do not see what is wrong on it ), i'm trying to get in touch with that fellow to get more information if he has solved the issue.
I'm open to any suggestions and proposals, how to diagnose the issue and what it might be.
P.S I have never thought that i would own a Honda with engine issue
