Ok, so I'm new to this site...and I was hoping someone out there might have some ideas for what my car is doing. I have an 02 Accord coupe recently it's started jerking slightly when put into reverse and every now and then when I am coming to a stop. Yesterday I noticed that the jerking was getting more and more harsh. I've several posts on lots of websites and half the people don't seem to know what they are talking about...Is the problem so severe that I am going to need to replace the transmission????

If the shifts are smooth, and there's no engine revving and delayed power to wheels - I'd check the fluid level and condition and replace it if it's due.
For the drive/reverse jerk I'd check the motor mounts, have someone look at the engine and engage drive and reverse and look for engine movement.
Let us know, what mileage's on it?

 

The fluid is good, but I did notice that the front motor mount is cracked...could that really be causing the jerking that I have. The milage right now is right below 109000.

 

 

What color is the oil on the dipstick?

my accord 2002 lags the transmission wouldn't respond though i press the throttle.could this be because i don't have enough gas in the tank?

 

Fuel is highly unlikely the issue; how long since the transmission was serviced?
