91 Accord tach Jumping and car jerking
Hello,
I have a 91 Honda accord ex 2.2 f22a4. I have been having problems with my car past 3500 rpms. I just recently did a tune up on my car where I replaced plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor. The coil is less then a year old and so is the ignitor. I have checked the blue wire off of the distibutor and everything seems to be connected. Also, I have checked the coil wires to make sure they were good and tight, they are.
Well anyways the problem is that once I take my car up past about 3200 to 3500 rpms the tach will start to bounce crazy but also the car will give like a little jerk. It does this everytime, no matter if the car is cold or warm. Also, I have a check engine light on that is the EGR system. Could this be what is causing the problem? Or is it fuel or electrical related? Let me know what you think. Thank You!

RE: 91 Accord tach Jumping and car jerking
You're probably right on most all accounts if you have an EGR Related issue.... If you've pulled the code was it by chance an O2 sensor? If it is then your fuel flow is going to be all wrong and more noticebly so at the higher RPMS.
If you haven't had the diagnostic code retrieved yet I would start there and then tell us exactly what it is.... but if I had to take a wild guess based on what you have said I'd almost think it was an O2 sensor error. Start by making sure the wires are plugged in/connected properly.
