I just bought a 2012 Accord SE and also bought a rearview mirror with Hlink, compass and temperature from Ebay.

Did anybody installed rearview mirror on their own?

Anybody knows where the outside temperature sensor is installing under the hood? Anyone did the installation on their own? If so really appreciate if anyone can share the info for installing the temperature sensor and rearview mirror.

 

Anyone?

Is this a Honda accessory? If yes, then go to handa accessories (handa is spelled correct). There are installation instructions for a 2012 rear view mirror in the electrical accessories.

Thanks PAhonda for the reply. This is not genuine Honda accessory. This is GENTEX rearview mirror.

I am looking for instruction to remove the driver side panels and taking the temperature sensor to the front of the car etc by running the cable from the mirror etc. If someone already installed, they would have instructions and have the knowledge to share the experience. This is what I am expecting.

 

Also I noticed in the Handa accessories website the rearview mirror can't be installed car with leather seat. It's strange, why is it so?

I am afraid since my car has leather seat.

 

I'm not sure why the Honda accessory will not install in a car with leather seats.

Your best bet on instructions is to buy a 2012 accord shop manual. Automanualsource site has accords manuals for sale for ~$22 as a pdf. I'm not sure if they have one for the 2012 accord.

 

The EX-L (leather) already has the factory auto dimming day/night mirror. Models such as LX uses a different wire harness and wiring.
