Just because your SE has leather would not create any impediment to installing the aftermarket mirror.

Wiring for the aftermarket mirror can run along the A-pillar. The Honda accessory auto-dimming mirror has the instructions for removing the A-pillar cover. The hardest part is removing the A-pillar cover. There is also an airbag behind it. -- Follow precautions and do at your own risk.

If it was only one wire that is not very thick, the A-pillar cover doesn't even need to be removed. As, I ran a wire for a radar detector under there by just pushing in by hand; which was accomplished in a few seconds.

To run a wire or wires from the cabin to the engine bay, there is a pre-drilled hole with rubber grommet at the firewall. You probably can make a cut in the grommet to run the wire through. Many people use this same hole to run their amplifier power wire into the car from the car battery.

See my post #8 in this other thread for a photo of the rubber grommet at the firewall.

Thanks redbull-1, appreciate your time for putting down these details.

I am also worried due to air bag on the A-pillar.

Wires are thin, but I am not sure it is thin enough to guide through the pillar.

I need to see that. But now I am more leaning towards what you suggested without removed the cover of A-Pillar if at all possible.

I did install the rearview mirror this week end. It took almost 1 1/2 days for me. I struggled to get the temperature wire from hood to inside the car. Almost whole yesterday went for that. Today I did the connection to the power using multimeter.

Also I didn't remove the A-pillar, instead routed the wire like redbull-1 said.

Thanks guys, your advice helped me and gave the motivation.
