Default Honda Accord lx v4 1999 broke down. i need help plz

hello im new and in need of help and would greatly appreciate any advice. i know i little about engines and like to do-it-myself.

i have a honda accord 1999 lx 4 cylinder manual transmission

well anyways i was driving for about 20mins. took a turn at about 30 and put it into 3rd gear. when i dropped the clutch it started to go for a second, then i heard a clunk, just one, even over my music playing. didnt seem that loud but then i stalled. when i pulled over my lights, radio, all electrical seems fine. so i turned the key and the starter turns (kinda faster then what i remember) and keeps spinning. like as if it wasnt connected. so no engine crank at all. i looked under car, no leaks from anything major. i do have an oil leak from my gasket in my distributor cap but nothing major. my oil is a little dark but not completely black.
thats as much as i can think of for what i know.

oh another thing to add is i have over 200,000 miles
i also fear that it could be a broken crankshaft from other forums and that she may be a dead one.

You are describing an engine that has lost compression. Take off the distributor cap, and try turning the crankshaft by hand using a 19 mm deep socket. Does the rotor spin when you spin the engine?

i took off the distributor cap and i think thats my camshaft there but a 19mm socket doesnt fit. it looks like a big flat head screw driver could fit

so if i can not turn the cam then that will determine if my shaft is broken?

well i tried to turn it with a chisel lookin thing by hand and no movement. any help guys would be great

ok i opened my distributor cap and inside was some oil. would that disrupt my spark and cause the engine to cut off while driving and not start?

As I read your first post my brain said, "Timing Belt".

Sounds like it's time to pull your head and have it redone, either that or find a head in good condition in a bone yard and throw that one on.

FWIW, there are exactly zero cars in the recent automotove world produced with a "V4" engine, Hondas included, your engine is an "Inline-4" or "I4".
