honda accord shaking badly

Default honda accord shaking badly

hey i just finish putting back together my 94 ex....and when i start it it runs fine..but when in gear like reverse or any of the drives...it starts shaking badly...unless i press on the gas then the shaking seems to die down a little....now im not to positive i lined up the balance shaft belt correctly i think i might of been off just a little could this be a problem?

could be. could also be the harmonic balancer (crank pulley) find out where the vibration is coming from

Back together? Was engine removed? If yes, check motor mount installations, particularly front and rear.

no the engine wasnt but i had to get the head reworked of the timing belt snapped and bent 6 valves.....the whole motor shake when i crank it up and its in park...but it gets alot worse when in reverse and drive...and on top of it all i have to replace the connecting pipe between the waterpump and thermostat housing lol...doesnt get a proper seal and whiter pours our.

Shaking is usually engine missing. Spark plug wires hooked up wrong, loss of compression are suspects. Check engine cylinder compressions and recheck wire sequence from distributor.

ok i checked compression and its 150 on 1 and 3...and like 145 or 148 on 2 and 4...i say 145 or 148 becaus it was the notch right before 150....could u possible post a pic of the way the plugs are ran? because i tried to go by what i thought the book showed and it woulrdnt start at all..so then i looked at a pic online and seen it ran a different way and tried that...so now it cranks but shakes under load

The #1 spark plug tower is identified w/ A1 or A near the tower. Firing order 1-3-4-2 going CW around distributor cap.

make sure the timing belt isn't off by a couple teeth too.

there's also a balancer belt you have to worry about

timing dead on but the balancer belt is off by a little...trying to line it back up right now...but having trouble since it keeps moving lol
