Honda Accord shuts off
Hey I have a 1991 Honda Accord and it shuts off on its own, about 2 weeks ago it used to turn off at stop signs and stop lights and once on the free way. I changed the alternator and cleaned fuel injection,(alternator had stopped working) after that it stopped turning off . Recently I was driving through a parking lot and it shut off 8 times while I was trying to get out, and when I finally made it out it didn't turn off until the next day I entered another parking lot. It only shuts off in parking lots now. not sure what the problem is.. Help !

Turn keyswitch to On in quiet conditions and listen carefully for fuel pump (in fuel tank) to come on, run for ~3 secs, and go off. If you can hear this every time, the problem may not be main fuel relay (MFR).
If you don't hear fuel pump (and no start conditon exists), then MFR is likely, although a sticking fuel pump can't be ruled out w/o further testing.
A sticking fuel pump can sometimes be "revived" by hammering w/ repeated on/off/on/off... of the keyswitch.
When car cuts off, does it immediately restart or you have to wait some time? If yes, MFR is lkely.

good luck
