How important is it to use Honda Bond for replacing gaskets on the valve cover for example? Can you just buy over the counter stuff from the local parts store?

i use ultra flange sealant ,, it is just like honda bond but costs a lot less , you can get it at the dealer

when using it on the v.c. gasket, use a light film on the curved edges only
