HONDA PART OR AFTER MARKET?

HONDA PART OR AFTER MARKET?
I bought a pair of lower ball joints off of ebay and my mechanic told me that I should only install original honda parts when it comes to a lower ball joint because the aftermarket one can snap while driving and cause alot more damage. He installed an after market ball joint on a honda and it snapped in 2 months and said he will never do it again. Of course I know that genuine honda parts are better but do you think it is dangerous or a risk to install the lower ball joint that I already bought? In Canada 1 ball joint is about $80 + tax from the dealer, on ebay I bought 2 for 32$ (shipping included) . I have a 1998 Accord.
thanks, let me know what you think....

RE: HONDA PART OR AFTER MARKET?
Tell your mechanic he's full of ****, he's getting payed to do the work, it shouldn't matter to him where the parts come from. If it breaks, it breaks, and he gets payed to do it again.

RE: HONDA PART OR AFTER MARKET?
have you checked other dealers for better prices? that sounds really cheap for the aftermarket ones...almost too cheap...or the dealer is high.
in my hometown, we hvae one honda dealer...if i buy parts out of indianapolis, 70mi away, its usually 20% cheaper.
