95 Accord A/C temp control help needed

1995 Accord, 4 Dr, 4 Cyl, manual. great car with only 120k on the ode.
Cabin temperature problems have existed for a while. Two years ago, dealer installed a new blower motor when replacing the pollen filter, saying the motor was bad ( it had a bad noise, indeed) so it seemed reasonable.
The temp switch travels the full circle as intended, but at the full cold position it produces a slight amount of heat. This is not a problem all winter, but with summer upon us, it means there is no such thing as a fresh air vent. I thought it was only due to a black dash and parking in the sun which warmed the entire front area and therefore the underdash components, but this can't be.
How can I find parts that might be bad? Is there an electronic or mechanical switch that is allowing engine coolant to travel through the heater core, when it should be cut off? ( I am familiar with 50's, 60's, 70's American Cars which often had a simple valve in the heater hose, but I don't know how these cars work)
I have pulled the temp control out and can verify that the pole is travelling to the full counterclockwise position. I have not pulled apart the dash to otherwise investigate. Where can I find a diagram and help with someone experienced with this heating and A/C system?
thanks

There is a detailed procedure in Honda Accord Shop Manual for adjusting the push/pull cable connection to control mechanism under the dash (easily accessible). Thepush/pull cableactuates the heater coolant control valve on the firewall behind and slightly below the engine. You can manually close the valve by hand to see if that fixes your problem. A correctly adjusted valve usually still has a small amount of valve movement in the fully closed position. I would suggest downloading the 94-97 manual from http://www.autoacforum.com/manualsand using that procedure. I've done this on two different Accords and it was basically same on both 90 and 94 Accords, so I'm pretty sure your's is same also.
good luck
good luck
My 1990 accord would always blow hot air. Just today I pulled the dash and removed the entire heat adjustment unit. The push/pull cable was kinked. I simply straightened the wire back out and reassembled my dash. No more hot air! I would check the wire.
