Default how to compress TB tensioner

I have a 2000 honda accord lx with the 3.0 v6 I have the belt tight with all the slack to the tensioner side and all the marks lined up but I need to install the tensioner, it is a small cylinder with a boot on it and has a hex on the end. I tried once to turn this hex but it did not move. I did not want to break it, or get the adjustment wrong. If can get this thing colapsed and installed I wil be able to finnish it the rest of the way w/o problems. Any help is appreciated

Small C-Clamp and a piece of wire.....C-clamp to compress, the wire will "lock" it in place..

thanks for the response, but actually there is an 8mm bolt at the end of it, you take that out with it pointing up and there is a slotted screw inside turn that whilst applying pressure to the bellows end of it and then hold it firm with a tyrap. It should be noted that the slack must be worked to the tensioner side of the engine, by backing the camshafts/crank up meshing with the cog in the belt that you need to make tight then reposition to your marks. I used small pieces of wire wrapped through the pulleys to keep the belt cogs engaged while doing this.
