Well i have a 1992 honda accord. The problem is it doesn't start. I have a friend who knows a little something about honda's he put a screwdriver near one of the spark plug wires while i cranked it. And he said the car isn't getting any spark. So i replaced the distributor, ignition coil and now i'm thinking about replacing the icm but i want to be sure i dont want to play the guessing game anymore. When i crank it some of the lights on the dash doesn't turn on like the CEL. I check the ECU fuse and its good so im doubting its the ECU. I also checked if its getting fuel to the injectors and it is. Do anyone no what this could be? could it be the ICM? Please help me!!

 

When you say that you replaced the distributor, did you replace the distributor cap and rotor, or did you replace the entire distributor?

Try turning the key to the II position, but do not try to start the car. Does the check engine light turn on for about two seconds? Have you checked for engine codes?

 

I replaced the full distributor and no the light doesn't come on at all whether i try to crank it or not. And since its an OBDI i cant check the codes without the light coming. And i took out the battery to charge it anyways so any saved codes would be erased.

 

The ignition control module (ICM) is inside the distributor, if the whole distributor was replaced, then the ICM was replaced.

If the Check Engine Light doesn't come on with the ignition key turned to ON or Accessory for at least two seconds, then it indicates a possible problem with the ECU and/or grounding wire. Check the ECU ground wire (G101) located on the thermostat housing (see pic.).

 

Thank you might be right because i took out the thermostat i will check tomorrow.
