Default How to fix P0420 on a 1998 Accord EX

I recently had a P0420 "catalytic converter efficiency blow threshold” code on my 1998 Honda Accord EX. I did alot of reading and was able to fix the problem. However, I couldn't find any place that had step by step instructions on what to do. Since this seems like a somewhat common problem, I decided to post the plan I develped for solving it. I hope you find these insturctions helpful and please leave me feedback or comments.

How I fixed the P0420 code on my 1998 Honda Accord EX

A nice diagnosis and repair summary. My only comment to your document is that exhaust leaks can be anywhere upstream of the rear O2 sensor; including exhaust manifold, connections and exhaust pipe.

good luck
