The dealer here in Daytona Beach is offering $75.00 off coupon that you can print out at home. I would check your local dealer t osee if they have coupons like that .

Good thing I found this info at this website, I thought my dealer was ripping me off. They were going to charge me $700 for changing everything - timing belt, water pump, seals ..... the works. I should probably search for some coupons online! This thing is pretty expensive.

Check the phone book for Honda Certified shops. They will likely do it for $100 cheaper (with genuine Honda parts)than the Honda Dealers (at least that is the way it is where I live.)

i just got my timing belt done at the dealer a few weeks ago. it was $650 but they were running a special for september. normally it would have been more than $100 more. they also chnaged the water pump and all the normal things. also got 5 "free" carwashes. a second quote from a non-dealer shop was $600.

Hey, I'm new, first post. I have a 93 accord EX. 160,000 miles, 100,000 when i first bought it and timing belt wasn't changed before I bought it. Recently I looked into a timing belt change. Yeah, dealership charges about 600 bucks for it. Even though the manual says to change every 90,000 miles I take a perspective of diagnoising to see if something needs replacing before doing it. (and with 600 bucks riding, I think an inspection is more than reasonable). Anyways, took off the valve cover, top timing belt cover, engine mount, and drivers side wheel. Cranked over the engine manually with a wrentch (counter clockwise) and inspected the belt.... perfect condition. Labels and all still neatly on there.
I'm not advocating people skip regular maintence!! But with lots of $$$ on the line, its definitly worth a couple of hours to inspect and diagnois.

If nothing else, at least change the timing belt. That way you're protected from engine damagewhen everything elsesoonbreaks, wears out, or springs a leak.
