how to replace actuator on a 01 accord?
I need help replacing the lock actuator on my 01 coupe v6. It sometimes works but most of the time it doesn't. I can hear it working but it barely moves the lock up or down. Does anyone have a tutorial (preferably a vid or pics)?
Can anyone help.
P.S. i'm a new member and im also new to forums so any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

I paid $80 for my helms manuals (including the V6 supplement). Best $80 investment I ever made. This would explain exactly how to do it. $80 is cheaper than paying the dealer to diagnose 1 time. Anyway a quick rundown: remove door panel (screw behind door open handle and one in the pocket where you put your hand to close the door from inside) rest are clips. Unplug wiring to mirrors, windows and door locks. Undo linkage from door open handle to actuator (tricky). Unplug light in bottom left hand side of door panel. Set panel aside. Peel aside the plastic covering holes for access inside door. Roll up window entirely. Remove window rail closest to acutator by removing one bolt in bottom of door pointing toward the outside of car (goes into a bracket) and pushing the window rail toward actuator on the top and sliding out of the hole you uncovered. Should be a few nuts or bolts holding it in from the door jam. Undo the wiring and lock linkage to keyhole. Actuator should come out with a bit of wiggling. Good luck Get a door actuator from a junk yard. These usually don't have a problem. Should run you about $30 instead of $200
