Ictdi 2.2 accord 2005
Hello everyone.
My name is Darrell...I am and have been a fan of the 2.2 icdti Honda Accord 2005 for the last five years. It's only now that after managing to sort out any issues I have had previously, I have become truly stuck on this particular issue..KANGAROOING! And thrice times has it lost power completely but the engine doesn't cut out just nothing at the accelerator pedal! I can turn the engine off and restart a Minute later and all fine again until the jumping restarts...it not huges jumps, little and often is how I can only explain ..Any ideas from you people would be hugely appreciated?
Kind regards. Daz.

Your description of the problem is confusing me. It sounds like you had no acceleration 3 times when you hit the gas pedal. Did the engine rpm increase when this happened?
Describe the what happens when you get the jumping. I don't know if your engine rpms change or if this is something with the speed/acceleration of your car.
Also, what work did you do previously on the vehicle? Is this jumping problem new, did it start after a certain repair, or did you always have this problem?
This is a non-US accord, but have you checked for engine or transmission diagnostic trouble codes? Does the check engine light turn on? Is this an automatic or manual transmission accord? Diesel or gasoline engine?

Hello PAhonda.
Thank you for your reply. It's the Non USA 2.2 Accord icdti diesel 2005 5 speed manual gearbox. The problem has occurred three separate time and on each occasion the engine carries on running but when you push the accelerator you get absolutely nothing, no rpm at all apart from its idle rpm that maintains the tick over. The check engine light comes on and after the car has been run an hour or so after the issue it does go out. I have not had it diagnosed via a computer programme as yet so no fault codes available.
It's like the car pulls back, similar to light breaking whilst still maintaining a set speed when it reaches the cruising speed that you chose...so if I accelerated to 30mph and then maintain that speed you then start to get the light pull back, same at 40mph but 60mph onwards it's not really noticeable. I have taken the car out today and I did not notice any reduction in rpm on the dial when the car started the pullback. I will say also that if I slowed down and tried to maintain a lower speed it does tend to pull back harder for a few seconds then it softens up.
I had an issue where the car wouldn't start at all once in a while but found that it was a battery power problem so changed it and had no more issues with that. I had a breakdown company check the car when it failed to start and he diagnosed a faulty glow plug but after renewing the battery it starts on the button. I have done all the usual servicing maintenance, oil, air fuel filters and no issues that I can see from these.. the problem has been here for about 9 months but has become more frequent and more noticeable. I have also tried three different fuel companies too plus redex fuel enhancer but these make no difference.
Thanks...Daz.
