ignition fuses keep blowing
Hi. I have a 1988 accord we race on Saturday night at our local short track and we are having the problem of blowing both ignition fuses. We have no key switch for ignition just a toggle switch and a push button starter and the fans and fuel pump are on there on switches. We can run about 10 laps of our 25 lap feature and both ignition fuses blow and we loss all battery power. Car can sit over night and battery power comes back and we can replace both ignition fuses and car with start back up. Any help would be great. Yhank you
A fuse will blow once you start drawing too much current through the wire. You have to figure out what is downstream of each fuse to determine the actual problem.
What are the amps on the fuses?
You definitely have some modified wiring, so what wire color(s) are on your toggle switch and push start?

The amp fuses are 40 thats what they are called for. And the wiring was done before we got the car. The wiring is not colored matched. I've run back through the wiring and nothing is frayed or even burnt.
Something i just thought of. The fans are wired to a seperate switch but jumped from the ignition togle switch for the hot wire. Could that cause a extra draw on tge ignition and cause the ignition fuses to blow
