Default The ignition makes the key hot???

I am curious if this is a symptom of anything more than age? A while back the ignition switch was changed out, but that was over a year ago. Recently, the ECU was replaced and flashed over to the car. Over the years I have noticed that the radio can get really hot too, but as of this new ECU being placed in the car, the key is noticably hot when you turn the car off and remove the key. Its strange, so I thought I'd get some info from yall if any of you have heard of this. I appreciate the help!

Okay, so Im taking from this that this can be a normal problem. Seems weird and worthy of addressing. I dont recall ever having this problem with any other vehicle I have ever owned...

fvansan- have you had the ECU or the ignition switch changed out on your Honda too?

What year car are we talking about?

I've had a few different Hondas & have not noticed this.

I notice the key gets hot sometimes in my 03. Maybe it's just because the A/C cools the plastic part of the key, but not the part inside the ignition, so it feels hot compared to the plastic part. When the key is hot, it's also hot outside.
