Default Hot key!

So here's the deal, I have a 1990 Accord lx automatic that is having trouble starting sometimes. When I start it the first time in the morning its fine, but if I am out and about turning the car off and on, sometimes I have to click the key on and off to get it to start. Now here's the weird part, usually when this happens the key feels hot when I take it out of the ignition switch! The car has a replacement ignition switch that is about two years old. Lately it has been getting worse.

Warm key suggests ignition switch assy is failing (high resistance produces heat in switch).

Is starter "clicking" or just failing to do anything when problem arises.

good luck

I can hear a click and the radio and warning lights turn on, the switch is fairly new, could it be a bad connection somewhere?

It only takes 15-30 mins to access the ignition switch. If it's burnt, you will know the switch is faulty.

good luck
