Ignition Switch ??
Howdy,
My latest problem started with me thinking I had a fuel pump relay problem until I did a little more troubleshooting.
When I put the ignition switch to the "run" position I get nothing. No dash lights, no hum and click from the FP relay... nothing. When I turn the key about half way to the start position the dash comes alive... all the lights, a nice hum and click from the FP relay, and I can close the windows and moon roof (finally).
I start the car and then it dies. My mechanic friend (over the phone) said to try checking fuses first as it sounded like one had gone but I was receiving power momentarily from somewhere else but he did not know Hondas so...
I am thinking an Ignition switch.
Any thoughts ???
Thanks

Sounds like the ignition switch to me.
Start the car. Then don't release the key completely. Let it spring back only far enough so the starter quits running. Can you keep the engine running by holding the key just a bit against the spring? Then it dies when you let go and it springs all the way back to ON? If it behaves like that, then it REALLY sounds like a flaky ignition switch.
Open the plastic shrouds around the steering column. Two screws hold the electrical part of the switch. Slim chance they are loose and simply need to be tightened. More likely you need a new electrical part of the switch.
