IMPROVE GAS MILEAGE ..
NGK plugs are GOOD for that car. I'll trust you about the 6994, I didn't actually look that up.
GOOD LUCK finding spark plug wires. Have you looked at your engine lately??

I just purchased a 2000 Coupe 4cyl VTEC Auto, and I'm getting around 28 mpg, 85% highway, 15% City. I am pleased, however, I'd like to see about getting a little more mpg and power. Have any of you tried a Tornado (just like a HELIX THROTTLE BODY SPACER on TAS website)? It is supposed to create a vortex air flow. Also, would more air (CAI/SRI) be any advantage? Can you keepthe stock exhaust with those intakes? I don't want a noisy car. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Ron ... Tb Spacers will make your wallet a bit lighter to help the net weight of you vehicle .... other than that, they don't do a thing but add a little noise. Also, any intake on an Accord is louder than the exhaust above 3000 rpm's if you chose a quality exhaust. They are not required to be installed together, but are intended to be. The largest restriction to airflow in your car is the B-pipe or mid-pipe (same thing). It's the pipe from the cat to the muffler withthe resonator on it. Upgrade that alone and you will notice a faster rpm change, up and down.
Thanks a bunch Falkore24. So just opening that pipe up a bit without an intake will help, or do you mean along with an CAI/SRI? How big do you suggest? I will stay away from the TB Spacer. Thanks again.
2-1/4" is best, or 2-1/2" .... if you do custom, you should include a resonator so it doesn't buzz later on if you upgrade the muffler. I think a 24" or 27" would be good. the larger or more, the better, but be aware that they cause a small bit of backpressure in order to smooth out the pulses.
I'm not saying that the intake and true exhaust don't help, but if you want it to be very quiet, the B-pipe is the way to go. Another way to improve the intake restriction is to just remove the intake resonator that is in your bumper ..... that's a free upgrade and leaves you with a cold air setup.

Excellent. Thanks for the advise/expertise. It looks like the resonator could be a real pain to remove. Does that involve removing the bumper, the outer wheel well, or can you remove the airbox to get to it??
You need to take off the bumper, which is just a few screws and a bunch of plastic push clips ... it's not that hard, but you're best doing it when it's warm so the plastic is pliable and doesn't break. I usually use 2 flat screwdrivers to pull them up a bit and a small needlenose pliers like a pickle fork to pry the rest of the way.
I did a search and have been reading for about the last hour. It sounds like I may just want to go with a SRI, and then alter my mid-pipe. I'm not so much looking for a performance car, just looking for a little extra and improve gas mileage. Thanks again for your info.
