Default Instrument cluster

My odometer stopped working on my 1996 accord lx 4cyl 250 miles ago. I was told that I may need to replace the instrument cluster (I replaced vss over a year ago). How do I take apart the new cluster to intall a new one??? Or do I need to put a new one in

It sounds to me like its the odometer itself. This seems to be a fairly common problem(happened to one of my Accords as well as a few members on here). It would be hard to find just an odometer, so you'll probably have to buy the whole cluster. You can get them on ebay in the $80 range and they can usually roll the mileage to whatever you want.
