Default intake manifold advice

so I need to pull the intake manifold off my mothers 01 accord LX to clean it up since im still getting insufficient EGR flow after replacing the valve so i assume there is plenty of carbon build up since the cars got 160k on it.

is pulling the manifold mostly straight forward and will all I need to buy before hand some cleaners and a new gasket or is there anything else I need to get myself besides that gasket?

Is this a 4 or 6 cylinder?

Some throttle body cleaner and a test tube brush.

I would get the intake gasket and the throttle body gasket.

It is pretty straightforward. You will have to remove the throttle body. There are some coolant lines that go to it, so it may be a good time to drain and replace the coolant.

I think that you will have to remove the upper half of the intake manifold first to give you room to remove the lower half. Then remove the lower half. Mark all vacuum tubes/connectors, etc, so you have an easier time putting it all back together.

You probably should get that gasket between the upper and lower intake manifold.
