Default Issues after timing belt change

over the weekend I had my timing belt set replaced (the whole nine, timing, balance shaft, oil seals, wtare pump etc) when I got it back it has this loud, god awful whining sound that changes pitch and intensity with engine revs. other than that the car runs as well as ever. so what could be causing this instant whine?

Does it seem like a belt sound or something else (bearing of some sorts), sounds like a belt to me. If it is like a belt then take it back and ask them to correct the issue.....it was not there before so "something" they did might have caused the issue.

it sounds more like a spun bearing honestly, and no, it wasn't there before

Your timing belt is too tight! Take it back to loosen belt tension!!!!

yeah it sounds like timing belt is to tight or mabe other belts. if you got it done somewhere you should take it back to have them check it out. and make sure ur timing belt is not rubing on anything you dont want that to go out..

true that. ok I shall go have my belts loosened. would that cause the CEL to come on too?

Now the CEL is coming on too? Read the code - it might be completely unrelated.

yea, I'm in this situation of put it in for routine timing belt set change, come out with problems. when I got the car back it was making that noise, unfortunately we had the Snowpocalypse here in the southeast, so I haven't had the chance to take it back up, and driving down the highway sunday evening the CEL popped on and has stayed on since.

usually the CEL is emmisions related. mabe o2 or egr problem. have the car scaned or when you take your car back have them check the code for you. tell them it came on after the belt was replaced.
