Just bought 97 accord
I just bought a 97 honda accord special edition.. and the only reason i really bought it was for gas milage and i am kinda disspointed. It has 115,000 miles on it.. First off i am fixing to replace the plugs and change the oil and i will find the timeing belt assembly kit and have a mechanic do that.beacuse i keep hearing to replace that before it breaks. Hopefully the air filter and plugs will help the gas milage... I put a full tank in and drove 275 and have a little less than a quarter of a tank left.. does this sound right... its a 17.04 gallon tank so do the math and it isnt much better than my wrangler. i paid 4 grand out the door for it and it is in good aesthesic shape... what else could i do... it the engine just getting sluggish.... HElP

Any check engine lights??
Plugs are a good place to start. You may even want to run some injector cleaner through the motor or even sea foam it. If you want more power, you have a ton of options. You can redo the exhuast system and/or go for an aftermarket intake system and you could squeeze out an extra 10 or so horsepower. Also check tire pressure and see if any of the wheels are dragging.
You should be getting a little more milage out of it. Do you happen to mash the pedal a lot?
