KBB says a 2008 Accord is worth more than a 2010 Why????
Hello,
I'm looking to buy a 2008-2010 Accord coupe EX.
I went to KBB to compare prices and the 2008
is the most expensive followed by 2010.
2009 is the least expensive among the 3 years.
I would naturally think the newest model is the most expensive.
What am I missing?
I'm comparing the exact same features and miles.
I'm only changing the year.
Example - An Accord coupe EX with 50,000 miles, private sale, very good condition and standard equipment:
2008 $15,057
2009 $14,306
2010 $14,881
Was there a problem with the 2009-2010 compared to the 2008?
Actually I heard 2008 had the brake pad problems.
Can anyone explain this?
Thanks

Not sure why they would list the 2008 as worth more.
Depends on trim levels; but, some differences:
2008-2009:
+ Glove box light
+ Leather armrests (doors sides and center console), even on regular EX Accords without leather
+ Center console tray and mat
+ Blue ambient light on overhead console
+ Engine cover even on 4 cylinders
- 2009 EX-L without navigation does not have Bluetooth
2010:
+ Bluetooth standard, even EX-L without navigation
- No glove box light
- No leather armrests on regular Accords without leather
- No Center console tray and mat
- No Blue ambient light on overhead console
- No engine cover on 4 cylinders
The 2008, 2009, & early production 2010's original rear brake pads do wear out fast, which there was a Honda brake settlement that has passed.
Honda released new rear brake pads with different material, V-springs, and instructions to check the caliper slide pins to see how they were installed and switch the top and bottom slide pins as necessary. Late production 2010 Accords from factory incorporate the revised brake pads.
2011-2012 Accords also have revised rear brake calipers.
