My key gets stuck when I try to pull it out of the ignition after turning it off. It turns off fine but then when you push it in and turn it counter-clock-wise it will not come out and the key light comes on in the dashboard. I took it to a Honda dealership and they never heard of this. The key gets stuck sometimes but not all the time.

Does anyone know what this is or how to fix it?

 

do you have another key? if so try the other key to see if that one gives you problems too. if the other key works fine, just replace the key that is giving you problems.

also try turning the steering wheel back and forth slightly to see if that releases the key when its stuck.

 

I have a 2002 LX that has the exact same problem. I usually just wiggle the shift lever back and forth (after putting it into Park) and the key will be removable. My dealer claims they've never heard of it either, but I'm sure it's more common than you think.

 

Spray a tiny shot of silicone spray in there. It should help.
