Default Key wont come out of ignition

I have 99 EX Auto the key sometimes wont come out of lock cylinder. I replaced the brake light switch and also the interlock switch in the console.

The tranny was rebuilt about two weeks ago and it started to do it after it was rebuilt. I brought it back to the shop and the rebuilder checked out the selector and also swapped out another one but that wasn't the culprit. Any ideas?

The car needs to be in park for the key to be removed and since u said tranny was rebuilt, perhaps its not catching the gear

Or a dirty/loose/corroded electrical connection is blocking the signal for that function. Does the PRNDL lamps in the cluster work properly?

Default Yes they do work

I live in Minnesota and the problem seems to more prevalent when its cold. For example it didn't happen for two days. But today when it was -3 F this morning it happened. Later in the day when it got to 38 F it didn't happen?

Here's the facts one again:

99 Accord EX, 129k Auto, rebuilt trans last week,

The key sometimes sticks in the lock (wont go all the way back)

Brought it back to tranny shop and swapped out the selector to see if it helped it didnt

Put in a new brake light switch (didn't help)

Put a new solenoid on the selector didn't help

I had that on 2 previous cars, both Fords, replacing the key cylinder fixed the problem in both instances. I had a locksmith do the replacement it only took him 1/2 hr. and 60-75$ of parts.
