Default leak on driver's side floor

Hey everyone, just joined the forums and was wondering if anyone has had the same problem as myself. My wife has a 97 accord exr 4cyl and noticed the carpet is wet mostly near the pedals and under the seat. I did a search and know it's not the ac or the sunroof drain line, what else can it be? I haven't had alot of time to try and diagnose due to the weather and no garage, but any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance, peace...

Why are you convinced it's not the AC or sunroof drain?

You say it's an EX-R which isn't a USA model. Canada or UK or ?? It's not clear when you say "driver's side". I bet the AC drain is on the drivers side in UK...

Smell it. Does it smell like anti-freeze? Smell like brake fluid? If it's water, it must be rainwater or AC condensate. There's a lot of grommets & wire-ways in the firewall, maybe something popped out of place?

From Canada sorry, no odor, I'm sure it's water. I'll check the grommets, also it's constantly wet, doesn't have to be raining or anything. i checked the a/c and it drains properly as well as the sunroof drain. The carpet is actually turning orange from some rust forming, location is pretty much all under the floor mat (drivers side) I'll prolly pull the carpet back this weekend to see if I can see any causes. Thanks anyway!

open the sunroof and look at where the drain is. pour some water down it. does the floor get wet?

The funny thing is there's no clear water in the car. Unless it's a spilled bottle of drinking water.

Antifreeze smells unique. Brake fluid is oily.Even windshield washer fluid smells.

How about foam padding under the carpeting? I bet it can hold a tremendous amount of water, so it's just left-over from the last time it rained??
