Default Leaking Transmission Fluid

2007 Accord EX automatic 2.4L. Inner CV joint busted apart really bad on driver's side, so I replaced the entire CV shaft with a new one. There was no fluid leaking while I changed the shaft but when I jacked the car up higher to put on the front tire, transmission fluid started leaking out from where the shaft enters the transmission. I put the car down on the ground and it stopped leaking. I drove the car a little bit forward/backward and it seemed fine with no leaks. I ran out of time and just parked the car. Do you think I didn't get the shaft all the way in?

Did the CV joint click when you pushed it back into the transmission?

I really didn't hear anything. I stabbed it in and out a few times and didn't need the pry bar to pull it out. The last time it felt like it was locked in but I don't know for sure. Can I still try to push it in after everything is hooked up by the knuckle and rotor? Maybe hit it in with a rubber hammer and wood block. I still haven't had time to investigate, maybe this weekend. Thanks for your response.
