Default Lost my key, dealer wants $230.

So I lost my key for my 2007 accord lx. I called the "stealership" in Temecula CA, DCH Honda. They wanted $230 for a new key and to program it. I told them I have a key that I bought online and then he tells me that they can't cut those because the key is made from a different type of metal and it could possibly ruin their $10k machine. So my question is does anyone have experience with the aftermarket key fobs that you can buy online? I've been doing some research and I found one on ebay from a company called keylessking . They want 12.82. I called another dealership and they said they could cut it for $10. Also one last question, does programming it from instructions found online really work? Thanks. Here is the link to thekey I found online - New Uncut Ignition Key Keyless Entry Remote Fob for OUCG8D 380H A | eBay

There are 3 items that you need to have a working key+FOB.

1. Cutting the key. Find out what locksmiths can copy your original key or a dealership that will cut you a key.
2. Having the car recognize the key (immobilizer system). I think only a dealership has the ability to do this. This is where the dealer has you over the barrel and you will pay some money.
3. Programming the remote to unlock/lock the door. These are the instructions for programming the key, but this programming will not get the key to start the car.

Hope this makes sense.

You may want to call some locksmiths to find out if they are able to program the immobilizer. Some may be able to do this.

You should call around to another dealer, I recently bought my 2006 and received only one key when I bought it.
My dealer quoted me $103 + tax for a another key, complete, cut and programmed, to duplicate my existing key.
