Well yes, there are many ways to do it. You are going to get the high quality name brand products but yes you can do it. You could probably go on ebay and order some shocks and lowering springs for @130, I've seen full coilovers for $250-300 but they are not name brand high quality ones. You could get a kind that is great, last longs and gives a good ride, or you could end up with a kind that destroys the springs or shocks in a month or gives a horrible ride, its just one of the risks of going the cheap way I guess lol. But what have you got to lose, throw your old shocks back on if you aren't happy.

its complete set. spings and sleeves. Im only wanting 1.5-2 inch drop. would i need a camber kit for that little of a drop? if so how much and would i need an alignment for that low of a drop? if so how much. and would my shocks be ok in just getting coilovers for now then later ill get the struts?

you buy a complete coilover setup for $50 and your cars going to handle twice as bad as it will before. as fas as suspension is concerned, its either name brand or stock, imo. The cheap stuff just wont give you any advantage.
and any drop over 1 inch and your going to need a camber kit.

Your not looking a coilovers. Your looking at coilover sleeves... huge difference. But any more then an inch needs a camber kit for sure...then an alignment.
