Default Maint req'd light

Mine is flashing 10x when I start the car, then it stays off till I start it again. Any one know what it is?

Oh yeah, its a 99 4 door with a v6.

Thanks in advance!

Means its getting close to oil-change time.

Its a reminder for every 7500 miles, regardless of any actual measured performance. A few hundred miles early, it flashes like you say. Then it comes on solid & stays on.

Reset like this...
Key switched OFF.
Press & hold the odometer reset button.
Key ON while you continue to hold the reset button (no need to actually start the engine).
Continue to hold that button forever. No wait, its just about 20 seconds.
Itll blink a few times then go out.
Now itll stay off for the next 7500.

It's telling you its close to 3,000 miles since it was last reset (it's basically and oil change reminder), soon it will stay on.

To reset it:

1. Put the key in the ignition
2. Hold down the trip reset button
3. Turn the key while still holding the button
4. The light will go off after about 10 seconds

Default Make sure your headlights are off

I have an '05 Honda Accord Hybrid. I left my headlamps on while attempting to clear the maintenance required indicator ending with "no go." After calling the dealership, I was informed the headlamps must be off in order to clear the mant req'd lamp. Hope this helps.

Welcome new member joltheadq!

The newer cars (with maintenance-minder) have a little different procedure anyway. That's one more reason why it's important to say exactly what car you have.
