Default A million errors

Well, I guess I screwed up: I accidentally started my 2019 accord EX-L with the mass air sensor unplugged and now the car is telling me that everything in the world is wrong with it (when in fact nothing is – it’s a brand new car – I just accidentally started it with the mass air sensor unplugged). Is there something I can do to sort of smack the car around and make it realize that there’s nothing wrong and to stop displaying all these errors, or do I really need to take it to the dealer like all the error messages say?

TIA

Ian

I’ve discovered that a bit of driving around and maybe the passage of a little time has caused the car to figure out that nothing is actually wrong and return to normal operation. Whew!

So it's almost all sorted.

Like you discovered, the car figured out that there's nothing wrong. The error will be stored, and it doesn't disappear by disconnecting the battery (like you could do with 2002 & older Accords). No big deal, but if a mechanic ever plugs in a scanner to troubleshoot something in the future, he should clear the codes & then see what errors come right back. That process is intended to avoid confusion from errors that were stored and resolved a long time ago. Keep that in mind down the road if anything happens.

Our DIY forum isn't really for asking questions like this; so next time it should've gone into General Tech.

Aha. I appreciate the tip. And I thought I had posted this to general tech. I guess the sheer number of areas and posts on this site confuses me to the point that I don’t even know where I am.

Many thanks.
