Misfiring???

Default Misfiring???

i have a 1997 accord lx and i am having problems with the car missing and back firing. I changed the fuel filter, spark plugs and wires. The car will take off but it starts slowing down and back firing once it gets up to 60. what do i need to change, the engine light is not on so no codes to check. Please help.

I moved this to the General Tech Help section.

Even if the Check Engine Light is not on, you should still scan/read for pending trouble codes. Pending trouble codes can be stored without turning on the Check Engine Light yet.

Did you change wires and plugs before or after the misfire started?

My first suggestion would be to check spark plug wire connections. It's easy to get them out of sequence and results will be as you describe.

Did this appear one day or gradually got worse?
