Mostly drive highway stop and go during week. Average MPH is 35 for 70 miles roundtrip to work. Avg MPG is 24. On long trips (mostly highway), the best I got was 32 MPG

 

I have a 97 Accord SE, AT, 2.2 liter non vtech, 176K miles.

I get 24-25 mpg mostly highway driving with small amount around town.

Calculate your MPG as follows:

Fill your tank up, and record your mileage. At 1/4 tank or so at next fill, record miles driven and divide by gallons to fill the tank back up. Most accurate method I guess.

I would change out plugs, pcv, air filter, inspect rotor and cap. I recently changed my plug wires with NGK's for about 35.00 online. Also check tire pressures.

to get the true mpg's you have to fill your tank to the top then set the trip. then when you fill up (to the top) again you see what was missing . gas gauges are off you can't use a quarter of a tank and times it by four to get mileage .

 

04 acoord 2.4 vtec 5 speed is getting 28 mpg city...hwy should get about 36 i guess

 

That's approximately the mileage I get with my 5 speed. Cruise at 75 MPH, no air, will get me 35 MPG.

 

Went on a trip to Wyoming with our '99. Worst mileage on a tank 29mpg, best mileage on a tank 39. Average for the trip 33mpg. In town mileage is around 28-30 depending on who is driving.

 

Averaged 36.1 over the tank and eclipsed the 600 mile mark. With say 1/2 high 1/2 city in my 2014 accord lx

 

My first two tanks on my new '14 Accord LX with 4 cyl and 6 speed manual were 32 and 38 mpg's. First tank was a lot of city and very hot.

 

My 97 f22b2 sohc 2.2 5 speed manual gets 31 combined when I shift early and with ac off. About 27 combined with ac on.

 

Getting about 32 mpg, if I don't drive too fast.
