Default My speedometer sticks @ 40 mph sometimes

I've go a 1995 honda accord ex 5 speed with 135000 miles. Sometimes the speedometer sticks at 40 mph and sometimes it dosn't.Could this be some speed sensor thing or the actual gauge? I dont know why this does this but if anyone knows a reply would be greatly appreciated!!!

The VSS on the tranny checks your speed etc. that may be bad or your speedo could be sticking.... does the Tach act funny at all? If not then I'd be more apt to think it's just a speedo problem.... Apparently this isn't uncommon for 94-97 accords....

If there is no CEL the problem is probably in the speedo head itself.
