The Honda navi system is new to me (long time Garmin user), and I've noticed something weird and was wondering if there's a setting somewhere I'm missing.

When driving in the city, when I come to a direction turn, the screen splits and I get a turn indication on the right hand side of the screen. It seems to be at about 300m. However, on the highway, when approaching an exit there is no screen split indication, just a little yellow circle at the exit. Is this normal, or is there a setting I can change so I get a notification on the highway like I do in the city. Basically, unless I'm really paying attention to the directions (and have them displayed), it's really easy to miss an exit.

Also, is there some way to have the voice notifications come on automatically?

I've gone through all of the settigns I could find and can;t find anything.

This is the right spot. What year accord do you drive?

I don't have navi, so I cant give you any suggestions. In the common DIY thread on top of the gen tech help forum has a link for 2003-2007 owner's manuals. That would be where I would start.

 

I would try googlin'. I searched for a minute and found the navigation system manual for the 2011 Accord. Hopefully that's what you drive.

I've read through the entire Navi portion and my navi behaves NOTHING like how the manual describes. I've gone through the setup completely.

I have guidance prompts set to MAX - I get no voice prompts whatsoever, none, unless I push the VOICE button, and I get no maneuver prompts on highways whatsoever.

Any ideas?

 

I looked in my 2003-2007 Honda Accord Shop Manual and there is a large section on diagnosing and repair of navigations system. Suggest getting a shop manual via ebay seller automanual source for $21.99.
