Hello all,
New to the site, but love my Accord . Currently 237,000 miles on the LXi
Here's my question.
The water pump inlet pipe began leaking today in my '89 FI Accord. Since I have to replacethe pipein my driveway, is this going to be a real pain to replace from the top of the engine ? Or is it easier from under the car reaching up ? Our 16 degree weather here won't help !
Hope someone can steer me in the right direction since I don't want to freeze to death doing it !! : )

You are going to freeze your[sm=smiley35.gif] off .
Find someone with a garage that owes you a favor; or bribe them with beer
All the stuff on the T-stat end of the tube can come off from above, there is a 10mm bolt thru a 'strap' attached to the tubeon the back of the block [drivers side of the differential area.]
From underneath there is a support bracket for the intake.
It will help if you spray that area where you are trying to pull the tube out of the back of the water pump, with some silicone. That will help the old rock hard 'O'ring come out easier. After you jerk and tug the tube out clean that area as well as you can. I usually smear the new 'O' ring with dow corning 111 silicone grease to help it seat and seal.
I just don't think I'd try this job outside on the ground in freezing temps.
Then again I don't check tire pressure without raising the car on the lift LOL
