Default Need Help!! 08 V6 honda accord coupe making load noise...

hi guys.. need help..just bought a used honda accord... love the car until it started making this loud noise......after driving the car... and im on neutral and parked while the car is running... the car made this really load noise... like a roaring noise or a water hose noise (it seem like its coming from the engine) ... it would go on like 4 time (really loud).. and then stop...and i would see some smoke too (but check engine light is not on) ..and it would have a weird smell... the car runs fine..but i did seem to notice that the idle did kind of go up and down (not really noticeable)... has this problem ever happen to you? any suggestions

Open the hood & watch; where's the noise exactly?

Turn off the airconditioning. You'll also have to direct the ventilation down to feet, because when defroster is selected it runs the AC. Does it still do it? I'm thinking something related to problems with AC compressor.

When i opened up the hood..The noise is coming from the passenger side... a hissing noise that won't stop... Near the steering hose... (Maybe) it's hard to figure exactly where the noise is coming from

Get a two- or three-foot piece of garden hose or the like, hold one end to your ear and the other end to the area where the noise is coming from. You should be able to pinpoint the noise.

Accessory drive belt on a V-6 is on the passenger side, so AC compressor, PS pump, etc are all over there. Don't get the hose or fingers caught up in the spinning belt. I don't remember if the V-6 water pump is driven by the external belt. If not, you can remove the belt & run the engine for a little bit.

Or just remove the belt anyway, and spin each pulley to see if one isn't nice & smooth.
