Default Need help with 94 accord lx

Im new to these boards. I have recently installed an axel, brake rotor, outer tie rod end, and lower balljoint on the passenger side of the car. When i tried to start the car to lower it off of the ramps it will just turn over but will not start. The car ran fine before I started the project. Is it possible that I may have damaged a sensor or something? The car is a 4 cylinder maual trans. Any help and/or advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hard to see how this work could have caused a starting problem. Just a cruel coincidence, IMO.

First step w/ a No-Start is turn keyswitch to On and notice if Alt light and Check Engine Light (CEL) come on. Listen carefully w/ everything else off for relays under dash to click softly and fuel pump to buzz in rear for 2-3 secs and go off. CEL should go off w/ fuel pump buzz.

If Alt and CEL don't come on, the ignition keyswitch problem is likely.

If you don't hear fuel pump buzz above, Main Fuel Relay or Fuel Pump problem is indicated.

If you do see lights and hear fuel pump as described, engine turns over but won't start, then ignition problem is likely.

Post back what you find for further guidance.

good luck

I finally got around to looking at it. When i turn the key on i dont hear any buzzing or clicking. The cel and alt. Light do come on then off after a few seconds. I picked up a new main relay today and plan on putting it in this weekend. I also will install a new cap and rotor button (i noti ed a gap where the cap meets the distributor). Thank you for your help. I guess this is a common problem with accords?

I would also check your fuses. Maybe you pinched a wire or something when you were working on the car? I'm just trying to give some easy checks before throwing a part at the car.

I took a look at the ones under the hood. The one that is marked radio/ backup has a 15 amp fuse. Isnt it susposed to be a 7.5? Are there any under the dash for it? I couldnt spend to much time on it. It was extremely hot today.

Yeah, that should be a 7.5 amp fuse. The owner's manual should have the fuses labeled. The fuel pump fuse is under the driver's dash.

You can download a 94 shop manual from the online shop manual link in the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum. That will have the fuses and the proper amp fuse that should be in each slot.
