I have a 98 honda accord coupe 4cyl 5spd, i use this car as a daily driver.

and every now and then it turns off on me WHILE DRIVING! When she

does die she wont start back up unless i give her some time like a few

secs and open the hood. (the electronics do stay on) this is starting to

bother the hell outta me i dont want this to happen while i have my kids in

the car. The car doesnt over heat at all. i have never had this type of

problem in anyother car. Any clue as to what it might be?




On a side note: one of the last times this happened i had let her roll and tried to "jump start" her in 1st gear then in 2nd gear and nothing.

 

Can you get the car to stall out by shaking the key while the engine is running?

 

There is a recall for the ignition switch. Did you get one? I have a 4dr 98 and it did happened while my son while driving it. No problem since the recall was done by the dealer. Just my 0.02.
