Recently the seal inside my accord went out and it was leaking oil. I had that fixed by a 'questionable' mechanic but afterwards my mother was driving it and according to her the gears just locked up.

I want to make sure that it is the trans mission before i replace it, but basically it won't move at all, in all the gears when i give it gas. When i do give it gas the speedometer reads and so does the rpms but the car just won't move. Now from what i understand the speedometer shouldn't really move at all if it was the transmission, and also i can put the car in neutral and push it. Shouldn't the wheels be locked if it was the transmission? I really don't know too much about cars, so that's why i posted here maybe someone can give me some possible solutions or is it in fact the transmission?

It was running fine until this guy fixed that seal problem then it sort of just went to hell.

Broken axle? Axles fully seated in the transmission?

 

What year? Manual or Auto?

i had an axle break on my 94 with similar symptoms to what you're experiencing... look into it.

 

what seal did they replace ?? there are many seals in the car,, depending on the seal, it might not have anything to do with your current problem,, but i would do as adviced ,chk to make sure that axle is ok and into the tranny ,,,,,, chk to make sure that there is tranny fluid as well
