do you have an owners manual for your car? because the engine light blinks in code to tell you whats wrong with it. and the guide is in the owners manual. check there first

Thanks for the post.... You can either go to autozone and have them scan the code for free or look through this forum for OBD 1 Diagnostics and it will give you the procedures to read the codes yourself and then post them.... When you say it runs bad what does it do? sputter? jerk? die? underpowered? what?

on the passenger side there is a blue connector under the right side kick panel. jump the two terminals and turn the ignition on and count the flashes the check engine light makes on the dash. that will tell you the code. it sounds like you have an o2 sensor going out. autozone actually wont be able to check the code because your car is not obd-2

i would hazzard a guess that maybe a sensor or ignition module is having intermittent failure........get the codes and tell us

4 slow & 3 fast is code 43. That's kind of a generic catch-all fuel-system code that could be from a bad O2 sensor, bad injector, or incorrect fuel pressure or a few other things.
