Hondatech ..... why do you think the tranny is shot? The thump sound?

 

stutting between gears, downshifting hard with a jerk.

the mounts may in fact be shot, but they tend to not cause a thud while shifting, more a thud from a dead stop. (on 6th gens)

 

You getting skurred falkore? better slap on that tranny cooler soon bud!

 

I was under the impression that the tranny issue was caused by a faulty bearing not by an overheating issue.... if that's the case then a cooler wouldn't help...

 

Then falkore may be wrongs about the cooler helping prolong the tranny life

 

everything I've read says that the cooler helps ..... It's cold enough here right now that the cooler would really have no effect. & yeah .... I'm haveing some issues that I can't figure out just yet ..... been PM'ing with SN. I'm gonna start a thread if I can get him to send back my PM's 'cause if I retype it I'll probably miss something.

 

tranny is shot. just got it checked. need it replace. so gay. good thing i have warranty on it

 

warranties are nice when you need them!

 

but even when i replace it, should i still be a lil scared of a replacedUSED tranny on these 6th gen accords??

 

you don't get a used tranny from honda, you get a rebuilt tranny. a reman tranny from honda has everything that's important new(clutches, solenoids, filter screens, plus an inline external filter) and everything else inspected plus a 12/12 warranty or 3/36, i forgot.
