2006 Accord EX 3.0L Coupe: What is the easiest way to prime a new fuel pump after installation without triggering any ECM codes?

 

Just install the new fuel pump in the gas tank. It should be submerged in gasoline. Just turn the key to the II position and do not try to start the car. When the check engine light does the bulb check, the fuel pump turns on to pressurize the system. This lasts for about 2 seconds and you should hear a buzzing/whirling sound from the back seat area. Turn the key to off and repeat 2-3 more times. This will force gasoline into the fuel rail and the fuel pressure regulator should release any air/vapor back to the gas tank.

If the car starts and runs normally, then you are good to go.
