Default 1998 LX door lock problem

I have a 1998 Honda accord LX with the power door locks problem. I have read a lot of post about this issue. The locks will work sometimes and not work sometimes. They will try to lock and unlock but will not. I have also see the passenger rear window go down by itself. This all seem to start after the battery was replaced. I have tried the wiper reset and it seems to work sometimes but not others. after a day or two it will go back to not working. The question is: is there a way to check out the Multiplexers and find out which one is causing or do I start replacing. I know i have 2, door driver/passenger. is there one at driver side fuse box? The ones in the doors are on the bottom side of the window switches. also i seen on another thread that you can reset the multiplexer with a jumper wire at the multiplexer. Is this correct and which terminal. Thanks for any advice.

Check the connections at the battery....and the other ends of the cables as well. Be sure they are clean and tight.

The electrical in a 98 is not really that complex so I would expect these problems to be simple fixes.

First question is if you have a keyless entry module?

try resetting the multiplex unit. It goes something like this:
1. turn car off
2. set intermittent wiper to mid position
3. turn car on for 3 second and turn off...

you will have to goggle it to get the exact procedure

No Keyless entry. i have also tried the wiper reset, some times it would work but now it will not. it is at the point now that the locks will not lock from the driver or the passenger. They click and act like it is trying but will not. i check the battery cables and connectors and made sure that they were tight.

So no keyless entry then this is simple as there aren't really any complicated electrical circuits running the show...

Do the locks move freely by hand? And is this both doors? I know that the drivers side door will not lock unless it is closed. It will click but the lock will not move as to prevent you from locking your keys in the car.

There are a few different things you can do. (After you tighten the terminals as stated above)
Check fuses and grounds, see if they will lock with the ignition on.
Try ground g401. (I can't find the location, may be located behind the center console on the left side) Easiest thing to do is see if your hazards work consistently. They share the same ground as the wiper washers and door locks.

Here is the wiring diagram.
