Got my gasket kit ordered.. woot

 

Ok, so.. before hand, when I'd travel over 60 mph, I'd get a check engine light, giving me the torque lockup code.. I pulled all 4 solenoids (2 per set of 2) and cleaned and checked them, they checked out fine. I wonder why I was getting that code. Fluid is clean, screens were clean, nothing nasty or gunky on them.

 

What was the specific code you were getting?

 

P0740 was the code

 

valve stems seals removed

 

Were you getting a whine noise from the transmission?

 

negative on any strange noise from transmission

 

Hoses are cracked. They seem formed. Are there hoses I NEED to order, or can I just buy some hose and use it as needed

 

May I ask what sources folks use in searching for an engine replacement... where does one find an engine besides a local junkyard? Thanks in advance.

 

I checked craigslist, ebay, car-parts.com -- with this v6, it was hard to find one, so I'm just rebuilding
